- The weeks leading up to my flight to University, I was repeated told but one thing; that I would find myself. For many of my well wishers, this seemed to be the most important aspect of what I had previously seen as simply another step in my education, yet by the time I reached that far off land of York, I had it firmly set in my mind that I would discover my true self upon this northern soil. Talking to my new flatmates, I learned that they too had been indoctrinated with the notion that Universities were something of a new Mecca. I quickly came to the sad conclusion, however, that, contrary to my dear well wishers believes, I would not be discovering anything new about myself at University, unless of course my true self was in fact a perpetually hung-over bread addict.
